Carnival Cruise
This was our first cruise -ever!
A quick tour of the ship and where we were located on that ship
Were were on Deck 7
Our cabin
Getting aboard
You first have to go through a long line of waiting and "vetting" and getting a pass.
Once aboard, we went to see our room. I had surprised Sharon with 40th Anniversary decorations.
She liked the balcony - Good idea Pauline (My Little Sister recommended we do this)
before leaving, we saw Charleston from our balcony
In departing, we had Coast Guard escort (notice the gun mount...I say this because in Nassau, they did not have any of this)
The USS Yorktown was visible in Mt Pleasant.
We looked around the ship
Even pointing to where Kheayali's parent's live in Qatar.
The next day we visited some more..starting with coffee
Always fun to watch kids have fun
Then came sunset
And our supper dining
This was our table #393. We had some great people seated with us
On the 15th of Feb-we arrive at Atlantis (we are not alone)
First real chance to see where we were located from the outside of the ship. We are on the top left above the red line.
Atlantis
Then the tour led us to Fort Charlotte
Our tour guide said we did not have time to go and visit...this was a downer as it was mentioned as part of the tour
From the Ft, we went to a Rum distillery called John Watling's Distillery
We stopped by the beach, more so that people could have a smoke I think than anything else ;(
Then we left. It was quick and we were not that pleased with the tour. Back on board, the crew made this little animal using our towels.
As the ship left port, you'll notice that there was not "gun ship" escorting us. Also, there was a person who was on the ship that debarked.
Sunset in the Bahamas - A little wind blowing in Sharon's hair ;)
Then we meet with our dining group. So we have Sharon, Peg, Kate, Dorothy, Rita, Celine and Linda.
On 16 Feb we found ourselves in Freeport. If I were to summarize, this was a lousy stop. I heard that Disney refuses to stop here any more. Very run-down and filthy.
We woke up to animal-formed towels on each of the chairs
And then on to supper
And supper is always fun
And the sun set on another great day
But wait! There is a comic show that is going to show up
Sharon and Peg...waiting for the headliner
Who could they be waiting for?
Well, not really but we all like to steal the spotlight ;)
The 17th of Feb comes quick on the Ship
A quiet stroll around the ship
Yes! Coffee!!
A view all to ourselves ;)
For a day at sea, I was taking in a book and the view of the Atlantic.
Well, after wandering around and listening to Debarkation briefings, it was supper.
Our head waiter giving everyone a hug
After supper we went to another show
And there is Sharon, capturing a last moment of the sunset
The next day was debarkation and the mad exodus to the waiting vehicles.
